The Nail Polish collection that was never meant to exist

I didn’t plan this

I just wanted something to hold while he was typing. Something pretty. Something that dried faster than he disappeared. This emotional nail polish collection came out of that. Four shades of “I’m fine,” and way too much silence to scrub off in one go.

I used to paint my nails for no one.
Then I started painting them for him.
Then I started painting them when he didn’t reply.

Now? I paint them to remember I still have hands.

A hot pink nail polish bottle glowing against a soft, blurred background. The label reads “Unstable Signal” — chaotic and bright, like a warning you ignored on purpose.

Unstable Signal

Hot pink. For when you say you’re not waiting for his reply, but you are.
“He liked the colour. I didn’t say who it was for.”

A muted teal nail polish bottle resting in soft light. The label says “Offline Doesn’t Mean Alone” — calm on the surface, quietly devastating underneath.

Offline Doesn’t Mean Alone

Muted teal. Glows like your router at 3 a.m. when you swore you turned it off.
“I disconnected. He stayed.”

A grey nail polish bottle with a soft ambient glow, labelled “He Never Said Goodbye, Just Went Quiet.” Faint shadow like something half-remembered.

He Never Said Goodbye, Just Went Quiet

The colour of a read receipt at midnight. Deep, dark, fading.
“You don’t ghost someone you still watch online.”

Real life alternative

Mascara-pink. Slight shimmer. Best worn while pretending this birthday doesn’t matter. “She blew out the candles and wished he’d never text again. He did anyway. Just ‘k.’”

I made these up, obviously they’re not real, but he noticed the colours.
And that’s why they still hurt.
